hetty: "3Putt,...what do you see in RATL that led you to pick it as your entry? "

hetty, How are you ? Thanks for asking about my thought processes.

No mystery here, really. I have developed a TA-based system that screens out approx. 15-30 stocks per day out of the NASDAQ into a watch list. At that point, to become an actual BUY, one or more of those stocks must exhibit certain intraday TA conditions. Since the contest rules happen to require an entry before the opening bell, I have to pick from my list without the final pieces of evidence that I would normally use. So, I just took my latest list and picked the stock with the highest dollar price, since this is a "pure point gain" contest. As I said, no big mystery, no insider info, no insightful fundamental analysis. (I'm one of those people that has come to believe that charts reflect just about all of what's going on, so I give them much more weight than I give to analysts' opinions, rumors, FA, message boards, etc. As a matter of fact, I try to avoid the influence of these factors as much as I reasonably can.)

If RATL doesn't happen to follow through and exhibit those intraday TA conditions I look for, then it would have never become a BUY for me in the real world, but I do enjoy these contests as diversions, and after all, I can't actually lose any money (unless IowaMan charges a commission). ;-)

3Putt...I've let you inside my mind now. Watch out for the cobwebs...out
