Elmer,
RE:"I guess you've never held INTC long enough to know Intel's been paying a dividend for years."

You guessed wrong. The dividend as you know doesn't amount to much but is a requisite for a lot of institutionals to buy the stock. I was refering to a large cash or stock dividend of profits rather than plowing the money into buying companies. I thought Johns answer was very good...

Remember, owning Intel stock is no exclusive club...all it takes is a phone call or a few clicks. Paul for instance can bash AMD all he wants but no one can tell him he can't own the stock if he thinks it's a good buy...
I'm sorry we all got caught up in the bashing over the years...fun but sometimes taken to the extreme...

Jim

EP, Re: "I guess you've never held INTC long enough to know Intel's been paying a dividend for years."

I owned a little INTC for less than a day and managed to get the dividend. An overnight trade with a very small surprise a month later when the dividend posted.
