Oops!You are right, in the rhetorical windup, I did do so. I was discussing the problems with the use of the term moderate. As far as the characterization quoted goes, I explained in some detail why I objected to the positions discussed, and in common parlance, they are liberal positions. Now, if liberals were largely to deplore the nationalization of health care (some do), the tendency to federalize most issues (hardly any do), and judicial activism (I cannot think of any who do), then I would withdraw the characterization. Otherwise, I think it holds good "by and large", which is sufficient.......
