I'm not sure about that kind of rationale against protection of the environment. If one believed that one would believe that industry would not pollute the environment if there were no statutes in place - or that the benefits won over the years by workers via the union movement would have accrued to the workers anyway out of the goodness of employers' hearts. Sure, things go to extremes sometimes - but unfettered action by industry can reap havoc.

>>a great deal of this "anti-gold" sentiment(& resulting manipulation) comes from that very extremist environmental "thou shall not cut or mine or farm or anything" lunacy<<

If that were the case, then there would not be enough mines and a large gold shortage pushing prices up. I think any of us knows that this is not the case.

I would have to say the same in regards to teh farmers. I am in the unpopular camp that says screw the farmers short term for longer term health of the industry. No where is it guaranteed to be a god given right to be a farmer. We have been giving out billions in farm subsidies for years. I think we should stop the stupid things, let the strong survive and let the inefficient farmers find other lines of work. Only then will the glut of over produced grains and other commodities stop and prices be allowed to increase to where the remaining farmers can make a decent living without government handouts. It will remain a viscious cycle of everyone suffering until we finally wise up and stop the nonsense.

Here in Idaho, they just had a big stink about the rancher's rights to graze their cattle on land they don't even own. This is ridiculous!!! If they want to be ranchers and graze cattle, let them buy the land they need. Why should the government allow them the use of public land for personal financial gain? Heck if I want to open a McDonalds, can I just squat on some spot in Yellowstone and claim it is my right to do so? Why the double standard? Stop, back up and look at some of these issues from a common sense point of view. Very few AG related policies pass the BS test.

Good Luck,

Lee
