mark, the stop button shows only while loading a web page.
It's next to the URL display, to the left. Thanks CatLady!
I'm running Opera now and will give it a fair trial. Had some problems last night, but will watch for reoccurrence.
What bothers me most right now is that I cannot edit the button bar [the one with 'back', 'reload' etc].
But some features I gotta like: display of loading status is one. Being able to move various bars the the side or top/bottom is another.

mark,

I agree on the child windows, I much prefer the IE method of spawning a brand new window.

The biggest plus for me is the scaleable windows size. That alone might be enough to keep opera around. I also like the cookie options, but cookie wall does nearly the same thing with IE.

Opera is also good for those with slow connections because you can easily control image loading but that's no longer an issue with a fast connection.

Later I will try out the email client.
