Rose,

You're reading my mind about Pete's jealousy...
He is very possessive of me and his 'herd'. It is a big concern of mine how he will treat the new addition. I'm not bringing the new horse into my barn 'till I'm back from a trip in early Sept. Will have to introduce him carefully. I'll put them in adjacent stalls for a couple of days, so they can smell each other and make friends. Then turn them out together and WATCH carefully. It can be very dangerous, as they sort out 'pecking order'. Pete will definitely want to be 'boss'. There could be fighting, kicking, biting, chasing, etc. The new guy seems very submissive, but they will still have to play it out to establish dominance. All this time, I'll be reassuring Pete that he's my 'main man'! Hoping to avoid any injuries.

Didn't do the race Sat. Opted for a training run of longer distance w/hills as I have back-to-back 10Ks the next 2 weekends. It went well. Well, add that 4 1/2 miles to your tot. for the week! Congrats.

luv,
jesse
