I go to the banks as well, but the banks in Vancouver, BC have started to rip you (ME)off, in my experience. If you don't have an account, they won't give you a favorable rate. Another interesting tidbit is that my husband always gets a better exchange rate . I lived in Canada for 12 years. It is a very sexist country, in my opinion, so that is why I think I get ripped off when I go into a BANK ALONE.
