Cutting the apron strings is hard, I would suspect. I can only guess what my mom thought when I said, I'm selling my car, taking the cash, going on the road for 3 months with a backpack, then into the Navy. Poor woman. It turned out okay, though.

I know, oh dear, I know. I am gnashing teeth here, but I am brave and encouraging (Oh, Look, Ammo!! Antarctica has a good marine bio dept! DO you want to look there?) He suspects though, and hugs me a lot. You were a good son. I hope mine will come home to watch me die. I plan on doing it well. CW called today. He has another week before classes and I asked him if he were coming home for a day or two, but he said that he was writing an article for publication and he wanted to get it done before school started. I'm very proud of him, but sometimes I think if he weren't so smart and successful, he'd be home more. BUt yes I will try to revel. Revel, revel, sigh,
