Hi Mark -
I have one of those fluorescent bulbs, and 24 incandescent that I have yet to replace, so I have a 4% penetration rate in my house. Can't think of any of my friends that I visit that I have noticed the fluorescent.
Can't really say why since in the long run they are less expensive. Maybe I'm just waiting for my GE/Cree LEDs to hit the market. How about others out there. How many incandescent have been replaced with the fluorescent?

William

bi*ri...The home lighting market isn't the key for introduction of new lighting technology, the industrial lighting sector is key. It has significantly greater impact than the home market. And yes, given the challenges of building new power plants, the utilities will be subsidizing every installation. The US DOE will be working on incentives and the technology. One final note, GE will not be selling any lighting products using LED's. Gelcore has the exclusive right to sell LED-based lighting products under the GE name...Gelcore is a joint venture between GE Lighting and Emcore Corp, 51-49 split...JBK
