I, too, thought the hardware would be a dismal, low margin highly competitive game and the content would be controlled by publishers with copyrights. Then I read the piece about the open-source code patent held by SoftBook for the OS and that sounded like it might be interesting, especially since I already own some GMST. I have found little mention of this and what I have seen suggests that there are no standards adopted yet. We'll have to watch and see how the standards develop and how the market grows.
