Yes, it is true. DANG! I wanted FLC to stay independent. When those shallow water rigs start getting tight and prices start running up FLC will make a killing. Oh well.

It will be very interesting to see how Wall Street greets this deal. How will the other drillers fare. More consolidation coming? Won't other mergers be necessary for competitive reasons? This is a huge deal! Will merger mania now hit the patch? Who are likely merger candidates? Will premiums be forthcoming to candidates?
