Clearly demand exceeds supply, and the chip makers are increasing RDRAM production. (Partly in anticipation of Intel's P4). But the question for me is, is there limited availability for lower than forecast demand?

These statements seemed in conflict to me. If the demand was lower than forecasted, would the chip makers be ramping up? I don't think so. If they were seeing limited demand, they wouldn't invest more in RDRAM even if it there were still shortages because there'd be no future in it. Always look to the future. They're not going to ramp for a short term spike.

So either they're not ramping up (due to limited demand) or the demand isn't limited. Since we know they're ramping up, I'd have to say the future demand is not limited.
