Interesting thought. But this assumes that traders will go out to lunch instead of following a move that they think is in progress. However, I think what you say is probably true a good part of the time. I think a look at volume going into the lunch session can provide a clue.

It now looks like price has moved a bit lower to test the 20 EMA 3 as support and has put in another up bar showing the test was valid. Market at another juncture now. Looks like it is trying to confuse the most people before picking a direction. So far I am thinking that there is a possibility of a continued move up.

Price congesting right now on the 1-min chart within the existing trading range. So I will be looking for price contraction.

Needs to move up shortly from here, or I will be anticipating a move down instead.

I find it better to step back and see the interim term patterns...

The trend of the lows is up on both the NDX and SPX... So, regardless of the wiggles on the short term charts, the primary trend appears to be up...

Price has moved down a bit. I am beginning to think a continued move down at this point with the 20 EMA on the 5-min chart as its initial target. Congestion on all charts leading up to the 15-min chart.

Now one last attempt at a move up. This appears to be a 15-min market. Two doji opening and closing in the lower half on the 15-min chart may limit upside potential for the time being. This is just a guess on my part since I have not had allot of time to stude double dojis I see from time to time.
