Dear QS: Well, I prefaced my comment by saying I dont know sh*t about chips so you certainly didnt hurt my feelings. (gg) I think though that I have a little more faith in INTC than you do. They didnt get to where they are by being stupid and so far as I know they have a reputation for honesty. So, I suspect the P4 will in fact improve graphics and sound downloads. All this is explained in one or more of their releases but frankly not worth my effort to uncover it all. I wait until you "experts" give me all the facts. hehe. JDN

Re: With due respect for your outstanding business acumen (which I agree with far more often than not), and with equal hesitancy to agree with anything written by the callow youth chic_hearn who is usually wrong and who, among other things, has written on the clown-killer thread that SUNW is going to be in "BIG, BIG trouble next year" <g>, I must say that the above quote from Intel is devoid of meaning

Oh come on QwikSand, give me a little credit. -ggg-

Where have I been soooo wrong?????

I'm impressed you've followed me to the clown free zone, maybe you'll learn something. -ggg- I've stated here that I think Sun is fine through the end of the year and is in trouble next year, so this is nothing new.

I'd like to add to your post that anything anyone does on the Internet will NOT be helped by a processor over 500 Mhz (I'm being generous here) even if you have a cable or DSL connection. That's why I find that statement as a last ditch effort by Intel. I would also disagree with you that the 900 Mhz T-bird is the best deal on the market, I'd say it's the 1 Ghz. In one year when everyone speaks of processors in terms of Ghz, do you want to have a .9 Ghz processor? -ggg-
