I'm familiar with that motor. It's similar to the one the British aircraft had in WWII.

There was an altered car years ago with an Allison V-12 in it, called "Big Al". I don't recall the car exactly, but I think it was something like a '34 Ford two door sedan or some such thing that had been chopped so there was about one inch of window space. There was a hole in the top where the guy stuck his head out.

I found it! I was right! Cool! Here it is, restored in Don Garlits' museum. I saw this car run, it was pretty radical.
