So if executing instructions faster isn't important in a CPU, what is? The tollbooth analogy. The tollbooth analogy. I've also noticed that you and the other "Intel is toast" predictors are laughing at P4 as the "Internet PC chip." Well guess what, the Internet is by far the major application for PCs now, especially at home, and corporate is catching up as well. If the P4 can make for a better, faster, more efficient Internet experience at a good price, that's the best advertising there is for a new PC platform. The same mentality folks probably laughed at Intel for going after the server market a few years ago with the PPro. I've noticed the same kind of "let's try to shoot the gorilla off the top of the Empire State Building" over on the Cisco thread. What is it with this second place mentality? Why not channel the energy into "how can my second place company do it better" instead of hoping and praying for the gorilla to fall? Tony
