Scumbria Like the link between smoking and cancer, or the link between TV violence and children's behavior, or the link between gun availability and gun murders, or the link between bad diet and ADD in children, global warming will never be proven. I think this is a too negative view....there are many people who have quit smoking because of the fear of cancer (I am one of those people); there are many who will not allow there children to watch violence on TV etc. Global warming may not be proven to everyone's satisfaction but maybe to enough people so that steps will be taken soon to mitigate its impact. Everybody chooses their own reality. Yes, in some cases, the alternative reality is hurting the rest of us. If humans were rational, would anybody build a house or business on the San Andreas fault, or in Tokyo, or Anchorage, or Taiwan, or Seattle, or Catania, or ..... Yes, but some of us are more irrational than others...its the difference between building in Tokyo or the S.V. vs building in Seattle. <g> ted
