Alex, have you noticed that the people with Republican tendencies seem to want more freedom of expression with less government intervention. Also, the opportunity to keep a fairer amount of their income after taxes. (around 75%) The Democrats want to give up freedom and respond more to a centralized, manipulative government. Generally, they are not too concerned about taxes because they either (a) pay little tax (b) receive significant redistribution funds from the centralized government or (c) feel they have influence to have laws written they will benefit from on a significant basis (i.e. trial lawyer, union organizers)
There is a great difference in philosophy between the two. Republicans generally are far more generous in supporting charities, etc.. Democrats, including Al Gore, (1000. in annual charitable contributions) do not believe in giving. They are more inclined to a redistribution method that will benefit them. I am always suspect when I run into a democrat backer to determine where they feel they will receive their benefits. Do you agree with this interpretation?
