I contacted the broker (Preferred Trader). They told me OCC gave them a list of contracts being assigned after Saturday noon, and they randomly select accounts to be assigned. But I could not know if the broker did this on Saturday or today just before the market open, because they show updated position just about half an hour before market open, and their telephone line is closed on weekends. And I requested the broker to provide evidence that they assigned QCOM shares to me on Saturday, but they told me it was recorded by computer and they could not provide me with any paper evidence.

I suspect they did assigements just Today before market open, at that time they could tell which stocks would go up or down from premarket activities. In this case, they saw QCOM likely to go down, they assigned puts on customers. If they saw QCOM likely to go up, they might assigned to their own company account.

I think at least I would file a complaint to SEC about that they did not update positions in time and customers have no idea whether they are assigned or not until half an hour before Monday market open, leaving customers no time to create a corresponding trading strategy (particularly for (other) cutomers who have complicated positions).
