Linux as "disruptive technology" comparable to the internet (IBM's view) seems a bit of a stretch to me. I had already seen that on the IBM web site before I read the Economist article.

I like the Economist a real lot -- not necessarily for analysis of specific companies. But it's a very nice "digest" of international news and analysis, US/UK/Europe focused political news/analysis, financial news/opinion, with smaller sections on science, the arts, books, etc. If you don't have much time to read each week, but you like knowing some details of global events, it's a good choice.

One thing I really enjoy is the pokes that the Economist and the Wall Street Journal take at one another. They have strong opinions about each other.
