I think they are also in good position to gobble up a competitor or two along the way, and I don't think the feds will be all that concerned. Celestron (and I think Orion?) are quality scopes and related items, too, but Meade is still the strongest. I think they need to really nail their name home as THE best though. Too many people who aren't that familiar wouldn't know the difference when shopping. The new scopes are helpful to open up the lower end of the market, though.
