local cruz nights around here have burn out pits where they chain the cars up and let em burn the tires off.

I guess a truck has the record...2 minutes something!!!!
All the others blow their tires in a minute or so...LOL

I never had a great power car as a kid, or at least not one that looked like it, so I just had to settle for the old Ford 4-door with the 390 police engine it in. (The large back seat had its advantages though). It did okay -- considering. Too this day, I am surprised that the reverse to forward (just yank it down as hard as you could) tire burns never destroyed the automatic transmission, but I did go through a ton of used tires. Fortunately, in those days, one could get a decent used tire for $5 or less.
