retain the Republican Congress
I actually like that idea in principal. If congress (or the house anyway) is close to 50%-50% with the party not in the White House in the leadship positions, then I think it lends itself to centrist government and compromise.

The problem is the current Republican congressional crop is dominated by the zealots like DeLay and Barr who have no interest in compromise or progress. Heck, I don't even know what they are doing in congress. Probably had a misrable childhood and want to take it out on the whole country.
