Arthur Tang-- I do not see a determined shift to the financial sector but see GE evolving in that direction. There are still many different businesses under this umbrella. Some are added and some leave every year depending upon whether they can cut it or not. If GE were to become a financial only entity many, including me, would lighten up considerably. GE covers so many sectors and even segments of sectors it is almost like a mutual fund under 1 mgmt team. You are correct,,, the only question is 'when' do we get to 3 digits again and split,, not 'if'!
BTW,, IMO the reason it took so long to move from 50 past 55 was the repositioning of accounts after the split. GE missed some dow run,, but will make it up now. Normal action and was expected.
