Rambus Struggles with Friends and Foes Rambus Inc.'s lawsuit against Infineon Technologies AG could be the final showdown for the litigious intellectual property (IP) house, according to some analysts. ... A lawsuit would be the best test of Rambus' patents, said Jim Handy, a memory analyst at market research firm GartnerGroup Inc.'s Dataquest unit, San Jose. "Until someone takes Rambus to court, no one can tell if their patents are valid," he said. ... Infineon said it intended to "defend itself vigorously," while Rambus said it had resumed negotiations with Infineon. Neither Rambus nor Infineon had issued a statement about the lawsuit last week.
