I don't think the current equities market is so unfavorable to an IPO candidate such as ReplyTV. So I'm just wondering if there is more to this story than meets the eye?

Couldn't agree more, Mike. Something's up.

As I alluded about a month or so, I was asked to respond to a survey that focused on ALTERNATIVES to Replay's 30-second skip feature. All the alternatives presented, IMHO, were much less desirable. Why would ReplayTV solicit such responses? My guess is that in order to receive certain financial or promotional backing, particularly in an industry that delivers content that is for the most part advertising-based, the present Replay skip feature presents a problem.

The foregoing issue may not be material to why Replay may have forestalled its IPO, but the issue is material to Replay's future fortunes. The cable & DBS industries have positioned themselves to be Replay's true customers, subordinating the consumer to merely the end user of a packaged service, delivery and storage of content for future viewing. It is difficult for Replay to maximize its fortunes if in-fact one of the key features of its product is adverse to the interests of its core customers, the MSOs & the DBS providers. JMO.

Re: Digital TV - How is the Telco Going to do it? NXTV Diagram

Thread- I came across this nice little diagram a month or two ago that I've been meaning to link to. I hope stays up for a long time on the website. It's the Next Level(sym:NXTV) version of how the telcos may deploy voice/video/data (video meaning TV) via the twisted copper pair. I thought it was a great little picture that answers quite a few questions.

Now for those that may be interested in a NXTV investment, it's quite expensive from any normal valuation perspective. But a backdoor way to play it maybe be through a very large shareholder, Motorola(sym:MOT). You see MOT purchased General Instruments. And I believe it was GI that had a substantial stake in NXTV. I hope I got this right. Of course you should do your own DD if interested.

Here's the great little network diagram/cartoon: nlc.com
