Bummer. Do you really think the Masons are that powerful? I have no idea, really. My maternal Grandfather was a Mason. That's all that I know. Isn't just a place where people get drunk and wear funny hats?

Anyway, the point system is the way the state works. My mother had a second point added after she reported the same kind of thing in S. California. I had an accident in which I hit someone (the first in like 20 years) this year. That was followed by a ticket, which I cleared with traffic school.

Traffic school a fraud perpetrated against the insurance companies IMO. The state and school conspire to hide salient facts from an interested party in exchange for money - uh, that's fraud and conspiracy to commit fraud. I benefit from the scam (and I don't like insurance companies) so, I don't feel inclined to be the whistle blower or take it up as a cause. My ticket was the first in several years.

Was it an "unlucky year" or should I do some introspection? I chose introspection, and decided that perhaps my cost/benefit calculus was off as far as driving was concerned. I started becoming much more "by the book" even though there was "plausible deniability" in the accident. There were many contributing factors that simply weren't my fault. But ultimately when you hit someone, you really should be asking "Why?". I decided I wasn't be careful enough. Even though I have a below average accident rate.
