For the gardeners...Too Many Tomatoes?

If your tomato crop becomes too prolific for your appetite, freeze some for the winter months. Just cut about 3/8 of an inch off the stem end of each unblemished, fully ripe tomato. Put the tomatoes in a freezer bag, pop the freezer bag in a brown grocery bag for extra protection, and place in the freezer. When ready to use, hold the frozen tomatoes under hot water for a few seconds. The skin will crack open and easily slip off. Cook as usual. A gallon freezer bag will hold about 25 plum tomatoes.
