Thanks for the information.

If it goes like the Palm IPO, then it sounds like one only has to buy their MRVC shares before the market closes on the day of the distribution of LUMN shares.

So if one wanted to add shares, when is the likely best time? I would think that sooner is better, since I would expect the price to continue to rise right up until the distribution. Someone mentioned selling some shares and buying back after a retrenchment. What will be the cause of that? I assume any such drop would be due to a lot of selling simply for profit taking, those trader types.

By the way, for anyone interested in Cabletron, I wrote them with the same questions. They said it would go very much like the COMS IPO of PALM, but the record dates have not been set at this time.

I also sent these questions to MRVC, since I got impatient. If I hear back, I'll let the thread know if there's anything to add.
