Via & Forbes
Thanks to Jason on the Fool
===========================================================
Has anyone read the article entitled "VIA Inside" in Forbes magazine this month? Out just in time for IDF. I am beginning to be convinced that the current FUD is coming from VIA and Micron (Micron has only glowing things to say about VIA in the article).

If DDR does not make it, VIA will be left with nothing to fall back on. They do not have a Rambus contingency plan as far as I know. In the meantime, their DDR chipset is still not here and they still talk like it has been selling like hotcakes for a year now.

As for me, unless AMD gets their act together in a big way, my next computer (6 months to 8 months out at least) will be a P4 core with a bunch of RDRAM. I don't want no stinkin' DDR unless they can prove to me that a DDR machine performs at least as well as a Rambus machine, and it sure looks like to me that there is no chance in hell of that happening with a P4, even when Intel finally rolls out a chipset that supports it.

Hey, do you think that Intel's DDR chipset, due in the late 1H01, will beat VIA's DDR chipset to market? :-)
