Bull Market Report's take on CMTN press release:

4. COPPER MOUNTAIN SURGES ON GOOD NEWS

News Item #1. Seven Leading Semiconductor Companies to Integrate Copper
Mountain Technology Into Chips for Next-Generation Voice Over DSL
Integrated Access Devices. .

Copper Mountain Networks, Inc. (CMTN, $69, up 5), a leading provider of
Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) solutions for business and residential
users, today announced that seven leading semiconductor technology
suppliers have agreed to incorporate Copper Mountain technology into their
next-generation chipsets for Voice over DSL (VoDSL) integrated access
devices (IADs).

News Item #2. Copper Mountain Number One in Business DSL, SDSL and IDSL,
According to Dell'Oro Group DSL Market Share Study

Copper Mountain Commanded Worldwide Leadership in Business DSL, SDSL and
IDSL Markets in Q200, for Both Revenues and Ports Shipped; Market Share of
Closest Competitor Declined

Copper Mountain announced that it is #1 in business DSL, SDSL and IDSL
market share -- as measured in both revenue and ports shipped for 2Q00 --
according to the most recent DSL market share study issued today.

Here are the stats:

No. 1 in Business DSL (SDSL plus IDSL) Revenue with $75 million and
33% of the market
No. 1 in Business DSL (SDSL plus IDSL) Ports with 225,600 and 36%
No. 1 in SDSL Revenue with $61 million, and 31%
No. 1 in SDSL Ports with 170,000, and 33%
No. 1 in IDSL Revenue with 50%
No. 1 in IDSL Ports with 50%

COMMENT: These are the facts and that's why we are going to stick with
Copper as the whole market goes through a shakeout with Rhythm, NorthPoint
and Covad taking it on the chin. The whole DSL business is exploding and
Copper is the firm that the major installers are turning to to supply them
with the ports. Second quarter revenue was up 32% from the previous
quarter. Big growth here. Revenue growth for the quarter was 250% from
the previous year. And unlike many companies in the Internet space,
Copper made money. After tax, they earned about 12% on every dollar.
Quite respectable.
