Scumbria : <<Imagine this scenario.

1. 1.5Ghz Willy is delayed till Q1 (probably)

2. 1.5Ghz 0.13u Mustang comes out in Q1 (probably)

3. Mustang outperforms Willy by 30% (probably)

4. We all get rich (who knows?)>>

All sound good to me! I am still interested in your take on Athlon's scalebility? How high it can go?

Re: 4. We all get rich (who knows?)

Scumbria,

In our case, things better get-a-shakin' real quick. Those Jan 100's only have so long of a shelf life, or should I say, double the amount of Jan 50's as of tommorrow.

BTW- I hope you and Paul are ready to get a lesson by chic on the course, it may be painful if you guys are not prepared for the beating.

Scumbria,

2. 1.5Ghz 0.13u Mustang comes out in Q1 (probably)

The FAQ says this:

“Mustang”

Enhanced version of AMD Athlon processor with reduced core size, lower power requirements, and up to 1MB of on-chip, performance-enhancing L2 cache memory. Manufactured on a 0.18 micron copper process technology. Multiple derivatives of the Mustang core are planned to address the requirements of the high-performance server/workstation, value/performance desktop and mobile markets.

amd.com

I know that the process technology has a number of parameters, where .18u process from company A is different from .18u process from company B. Can AMD have improvements in the process and still call it .18u, but this new process has improved parameters? Or how else do you interpret the statement from FAQ?

Joe

Scumbria, I like that analysis, but unfortunately we all know that even if 1-3 are all accurate, an equally likely result is that:

4. AMD stock goes down.
