Douglas, I am not so sure Global Warming is bogus but I definitely agree with you that politicians use the issue to further their own careers.

I did a calculation just for grins. Discovered the following tidbit recently:

"One barrel of Arabian Light crude oil = 0.158987 m3 and 0.136 tonnes."

The world consumes about 77 million barrels of oil a day, right? that translates to:

77,000,000*.158987=12,241,999 cubic meters/day

Kind of changes one's perspective! This is also why I think the claims about "Pinatubo spewing more (of ANYTHING) into the atmosphere than humanity ever did" are pure and total BS.

Then there are all the rig emissions, and NG usage around the world.

All this is on top of what the planet already produces.
