ted, Re: wealth distribution in America, 5% control 80%? I recalled an article from Forbes a little while ago (last year) on net worth distribution and was able to find it on the web: forbes.com Forbes estimated top 1% owned 35% and the next 9% owned 33% so 10% control 68% or so. Bottom 46% own 3.4%. See also the chart: forbes.com There was a more recent article on income distribution but I am too tired to search for it tonight (still having not mastered search techniques). -PT
