JDN-I can't comment specifically on the Amsoil product (although I have heard good things about it) but there is no question that synthetics are superior to organics. I was a plant and facilities engineer (read "maintenance") and know that manufacturers of industrial equipment such as compressors almost universally specify synthetic lubes for thier equipment. I use Mobil 1 exclusively in my MR2 turbo. Two major advantages are greater lubricity (lower friction) and less loss of viscosity from thermal breakdown. bill
