Scott and thread, Advice; I've got fairly big positions with low cost basis in VTSS($6)78, GMST($30)74, PMCS($22)230, CREE($35)125 and CSCO($17)65. I have debated writing CC's on these and have stuck with my cash portion of my stake to rotate on cc's to avoid cap gains. They are all long term gains, but substantial taxes to me. Writing on my high cost basis issues has been tremendous, but now think for the short term it is better to SSTI. That is most of my trading/cc dollars are parked. Do have a chunk of CREE 3/2001 100's with big gains to free up, just hoping to squeeze a little more out of them. tia, Dutch
