I think SCON is the leader by a wide margin.

SCON/CDTS...

The Institutional Holdings for both SCON and CDTS have risen over the last 3 Quarters. The #1 Institutional Investor in SCON, Dimensional Fund Advisors, is also the #9 Institutional Investor in CDTS. This fund has added more shares of SCON since the last reporting period, but they still hold shares in CDTS...and they haven't sold any of their shares in CDTS according to this listing.

I know that some question this technology and these companies, but IMO their product is being taken seriously by the institutional investors as a possible necessary product to help the mobile wireless telecommunications industry.

As stated from the description of SCON on Yahoo, "The SuperFilter products, when incorporated into wireless base stations, offer significant advantages over conventional filter products for wireless applications, including reduced size, increased range, reduced interference, increased capacity, extended handset battery life and reduced handset transmit power." From the CDTS description the hoped for results of ..."effectively improve coverage, reduce interference and increase network capacity, thus improving the network operators' ability to compete effectively and increase billable airtime."

This is from the CDTS website..."comparing" the different companies: "Other HTS system manufacturers include Illinois Superconductor Corp., which utilizes a bulkier thick-film technology in its products, and Superconductor Technologies Inc., which uses thin-film technology similar to Conductus but bases its products upon its own refrigeration systems which have only a limited track record with respect to reliability and operating lifetime. We believe among HTS system manufacturers, Conductus offers a unique combination of the most advanced filter designs, high reliability refrigeration systems, value-added features and compact packaging and therefore is well-positioned to become the leading company in this growing new industry."

I realize the above description is biased in favor of CDTS...but I think it gives a brief description of some of the differences between the companies.

There are some who believe all three companies will do well if their product is adopted by the telecommunications industry....but ISCO is not a company that I'd be comfortable investing in at this time. Just IMO...from what I've read on the subject. I own a small position in both SCON and CDTS.
