Dear saukriver: Well, in my career I specialized in SEC reporting etc. Worked sometimes with the SEC in the Miami department. I can assure you they are pretty knowledgeable and probably have far more experience than someone in say Peoria (gg). As to the homestead law, I am for it if for no other reason then I detest the manner in which credit companies insidiously get young or inexperienced people into trouble. My son, a college student, has 3 credit cards and not a decent job. If he gets in over his head I dont see why the government should pass laws to bail out the grantors of that credit. When I was a kid I had to start with a gas credit card, then borrow $300 from a bank and repay it monthly. Finally, I had enough credit that I could get a credit card with probably about $600 line. Thats the way it OUGHT TO BE. jdn
