Redline oil: I totally agree, they make good stuff. I heard good stuff about Waterwetter and even tried it once but didn't find any difference (hey this is Canada eh, not Texas heat!).

One product that I will absolutely give my highest recommendations for is Redline MTL (Manual Transmission Lubricant) in the tranny. It is sooo nice, it improves shifting a great deal. If you are a "car guy" you WILL notice a difference.

Engine oil - I use 100% synthetic, depending on the season it is a mix of 15W50 and 0W30 (Canadian Tire brand). I usually drive about 13k km before the oil starts to get dirty enough to see on the dipstick. 390,000 original km on my VW Jetta can't be too far from wrong!

As far as I can tell the Canadian Tire brand could be the same stuff as Mobil One, for several reasons: Available in same viscosities, uses same base stock (PAO), both manufactured by the same company (Imperial Oil Canada).
