No, it was right there for anyone to see. Clinton was no more vilified than Gingrich, perhaps less. Phony charges were trumped up against Newt (although the FEC and IRS eventually cleared him) to get him back for Jim Wright and for winning the House. The White House stabbed him in the back on a deal he thought was done, and then blamed him for the government shutdown. As Bob Kerrey (Democrat, Nebraska) once said of Clinton, his word means nothing, and he will say anything......
