I don't think the Republicans have the same jealousy or envy level as Democrats. The real difference is Republicans want nothing more from government than to leave them alone to produce. They are not seeking a government handout. The Democrats cross them by confiscatory taxation (55% of an estate with the death tax, paying more tax for being married, etc..) Republicans prefer less government and services and more opportunity. We should have a strong military, etc. and education should be handled at the local level. And, there are many more areas like that. Generally, the Republican philosophy is not power hungry. They will operate with a leaner government and tax less. The Democrats are socialistic and power hungry. They want to tax and spend. It is a clear choice. If anyone is ambitious, willing to work hard, and wants an opportunity they would support the Republicans. If they want governmental handouts, are lazy, non productive then they would support the Democrats.
