Andrew was the worst I've seen since Donna in 1960. But in 1960 there was 1/10th of the people...and the damage from Andrew was the worst.
After Andrew, just about everyone in the Kendall, Cutler Ridge, Florida City area got an upgraded tile roof or a new house...values actually went way up...
Major hurricanes never were such a big thing until so many people moved to Florida, near the coast. Now the "panic factor" is as dangerous as the storm. Home Depot is doing a bang up business with plywood and storm panels right now...
A lot will be returned next week...
