To my knowledge, and I may be wrong, none of the competitors offer interoperability between Unix and Windows files/hosts. A Windows file is a Windows file and to access it one must be using a Windows host or a third-party CIFS file interface on a Unix host. And vice versa. It can be done and is done (file system interface emulation), but it adds a significant level of complexity and sys admin to an enterprise.

Other vendors will gloss over their method of cross protocol file access, naturally, and many customers accept that simply because cross platform file access is an old problem that many simply accept as a "given". They are somewhat familiar with he third party software so don't think much of the issue.
