Vaporware is built on top of a marketechture, but it is usually a little bit more mature than pure slideware.

MKC - no problem.

WCDMA and CDMA2000 are competing standards for 3G. They both use CDMA technology, and, according to QCOM, will pay royalties to Q. WCDMA was a derivative designed by NOK and ERICK. which, i believe, will offer a less expensive transition from GSM.

Vaporware meant it is designed, but not proven or built. It's an idea, but has risk associated with it.

I can't comment on the cost - but i remember hearing on QCOM's call plans to minimize the cost of upgrading by having standard pinsets for chips and software upgrades. This may have been related to handsets rather than basestations. I'll check into it.

Question to the thread: Where do I learn about TA and FA? I know very little, and am eager to learn.
