Unfortunately there are legions not as astute as you... others are hoping to get something for their nothing.

You can see, but many truly cannot see beyond Al Gore's smoke and mirrors, or they just plain want to believe him at any cost.

Mark, I am very sympathetic. In '92, it was apparent to me that Clinton was a phony, who made Jerry Brown look substantial, and I could not understand how some people I respected were taken in by him, but there it was. Of course, the ones taken in were people from Democratic backgrounds who were uncomfortable abandoning the party, and so they were looking for a centrist savior of the party, and willing, in that sense, to be duped. Similarly with Gore: people who are uncomfortable with the Religious Right, or distrust Republicans, are looking for a way out of their dilemma, and therefore less critical of Gore than they should be.........
