OT:

I'm a little surprised GW Bush and the 'publicans aren't making one of the main points of their campaign how Clinton/Gore has mismanaged energy policy. I seem to recall from the history books (I'm of course too young to remember it) that JFK made a tremendous amount of hay out of accusing Eisenhower/Nixon of allowing a dangerous "missile gap" to have occurred on their watch. Of course, when JFK took office it turned out there wasn't much of a gap, so what the hey.

But we really are facing what looks to be a serious gasoline, oil and HO crisis.

Anyway, I didn't have any hot picks or no brainers to offer (sheesh, it's pretty much a dart board), and I've been wondering about this. I suppose George and Dick don't really have the cojones to take this issue right at the Democrats. They seem to be playing "not to lose." We know how that strategy usually ends up.

I'll go quietly back to my dartboard for now.
