I can't argue with that, really. LeMay was certainly a man with a clear and easily-communicated vision. He was certainly one of the men who shaped our century's history (heh heh, it's STILL the 20th century, folks) I wonder how the Cuban missile situation would have played without hundreds of young men sitting nervously in loaded B-47s on short alert. Without LeMay, the SAC would almost certainly not have been the sort of credible threat to put some teeth in JFK's demands that the Soviets remove their missiles from Cuba.
