Tom The preliminary numbers are issued when the auditor has received sufficient member submissions to issue a somewhat "meaningful" report. The same companies may or may not be included in a particular "preliminary" report. The numbers are seasonally adjusted. This makes comparison of 2 consecutive reports close to impossible. This report is given far more significance than it deserves. While it is seriously flawed, it is the only number that many seem to have access to. FWIW, Ian.
