The *Train* ad?

If that's the ad I think it is, it sucks. It sucks on ice. It sucks in sunny weather and in stormy weather. It blows so hard that it can cool an Itanium.

I know countless people who were infinitely insulted when this commercial aired. Brian Neal of Ace's Hardware was shocked at how much AMD underestimated the intelligence of football connoisseurs. People in AMD's own PR departments found it annoying.

Holy crap. If there's anything AMD can bring out to increase their mindshare, please let it not be this!

John...re:AMD TV ads.

You must have an old link me thinks. I was going to download that ad until I realized it was the commercial that was aired last year I believe.

Officially, AMD's Toni Beckham responded to an e-mail last week and wrote that AMD doesn't have any new plans for advertising because the company is doing all they can do to keep up with demand, and in an earlier e-mail said that AMD didn't want to create any demand they couldn't meet. She did say that that 4th quarter marketing plans are still being evaluated. I agree with JC, last years commercial could have been much better.

Check out this new AMD TV Ad. It's an amazing winner sure to vastly increase mindshare if they run it enough

Ummmmmm John..... I don't know how to break this to you, but that was a TV ad that AMD ran "Last Year". The date schedule says 1999, this is the year 2000.

Dunnerjohn (tv ad)

Believe me, that spot sucks. Poor association, pure cheese, non-professional, no branding, poor quality. You can't build a campaign off a spot like that, either. The ones who made that spot were the same guys who make the Priceline commercials with William Shattner. It's pure crap.
