Doug/OT somewhat. Logging is just one of many areas that I'm always looking for either new ideas (which HAL and SLB naturally put a high price on AND are not always available in Illinois) OR better yet new uses of old ideas where the equipment and materials are around and not overly expensive.

The Aux Vases sand is probably the most complex, tricky formation I wrestle with. Doesn't like to be drilled with fresh mud, doesn't like to be acidized. Kinda like the prom queen type. Treat her just right and she'll put out for you<g>. Make one mistake and you're history!

Now if you drill with salt rather than fresh mud to minimize invasion of the zone and problems with microscopic clay swelling and/or migration of fines you need to use laterologs rather the the common dual induction log that is used to log a borehole drilled with fresh mud. But the tool isn't all that available in the basin anymore and most of the well sitters aren't even current with interpreting those logs.

So you look for for other drilling and completion ideas to to get the prom queen to do the deed. No sense going into a lot of detail on a public thread. Just PM me if you run across anything that you think might be worth a look. TIA
